Privacy
Short version: no cookies, no tracking, no analytics, nothing loaded from other companies. Your documents stay on your device. The server keeps an ordinary access log for 14 days.
Who is responsible
Matthias Hadlich, Ina-Seidel-Bogen 14, 81929 München, Germany, lasteditor@posteo.de (see also the legal notice).
The website (lasteditor.com)
A few static files. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, runs no analytics or advertising, loads nothing from other companies (no fonts, scripts, maps or videos from elsewhere), has no forms and no comments.
The web editor (app.lasteditor.com)
- The editor runs entirely in your browser. Your documents are kept in your browser's private storage on your device ("On this device") or in files you save yourself. They are not sent to us, and the page is built so that it may not connect anywhere else.
- After the first visit your browser keeps a copy of the app so that it works offline (a service worker and its cache). This is needed for the feature you asked for by installing or using it. You can remove it at any time in your browser's site settings; that also deletes the stored documents, so save a copy first.
- No account, no cookie, no tracking.
What the server records
When a page or file is requested, the server (and the web proxy in front of it) records your IP address, the date and time, the address requested, the response status, the amount of data sent and your browser's name (user agent). This is technically necessary to deliver the site, to keep it secure and to fend off abuse.
- Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a secure and working service.
- Retention: 14 days, then the entries are deleted automatically. They are not combined with other data and not passed on, except where the law requires it.
- The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
Downloads
A download is an ordinary request and appears in the log above, nothing more.
If you write to us, we use your address and message only to answer you, and delete them when the matter is settled, unless the law requires us to keep them (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object (Art. 21) to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your situation. Write to lasteditor@posteo.de. You may also complain to a data protection authority; for Bavaria the competent one for private operators is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach.
If this ever changes, this page changes first, and any measurement would be switched on only with an announcement here. Status: October 2026.
